The Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and the Chamber of Economy and Trade are organising the national conference to launch the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), due to take place in Ljubljana on 10 December 2002.

The opening presentation at the conference will be given by Dr Lucija Cok, Minister of Education, Science and Sport, and will be followed by presentations by representatives from the European Commission on the concept of integrating European research. There will be special emphasis on the thematic priorities 'genomics and biotechnology for health, 'information society technologies' and 'nanotechnologies and nanosciences' as well as on human resources and mobility and the rules for participation and financing under FP6.

Some 500 preliminary registered researchers and managers from universities, research institutions, industry and small and medium sized enterprises in Slovenia are expected to attend.For further information, please contact:
