Sixth international workshop on presence research

PRESENCE 2003, an international workshop on presence research, will take place from 6 to 8 October in Aalborg, Denmark.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together academic researchers in the area of media and presence, content and technology developers, and interested commercial parties with a view to discussing the theories, measurement techniques and applications regarding 'presence' technology.

Some of the topics to be discussed at the workshop will include:

- presence evaluation and measurement methodologies;
- causes and consequences (effects) of presence;
- presence in shared virtual environments and online communities;
- social and affective interfaces, virtual agents and parasocial interactions;
- presence-associated technologies;
- presence applications.

The workshop is being organised by the international society for presence research (ISPR) and supported by the European Union's 'future and emerging technologies' (FET) programme.For further information, please consult the following web address:
