UK stem cell conference: 'shaping the future'

The department of trade and industry (DTI) and the medical research council (MRC) are jointly organising a conference on stem cell research in the UK entitled 'stem cells: shaping the future' in London from 15 to 16 September.
The first day of the conference will comprise presentations by national and international experts, as well as workshops aimed at identifying UK strengths, weaknesses and opportunities in key areas of stem cell research.
Day two will involve presentations of the recent stem cell mission to Canada and the US to showcase UK developments and promote international collaboration. Speakers at the event will include the chief executive of the MRC, Professor George Radda, and Sir David King, the UK's chief scientific adviser.
