Group on Earth Observations to meet in Italy

The European Commission and the Italian Presidency will host a plenary meeting of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) on 28 and 29 November in Baveno, Italy.
The GEO working group was launched in July 2003, and is currently developing a ten year plan to set up a comprehensive Earth observation system.
Speakers at the event will include Research DG Director General Achilleas Mitsos and Conrad Lautenbacher, the US Under Secretary for Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere.
