International conference on the food factory of the future

An international conference on the food factory of tomorrow, organised by SIK (Swedish Institute for Food and Biotechnology) and France's Laval Mayenne Technopole, will take place in Laval, France from 6 to 8 October.
The conference will provide a platform to present the state of the art in knowledge and ongoing work from academic research laboratories and industrial research and development (R&D) centres, covering the following four topics:
- Designing and building an hygienic food factory, including hygienic design of food industry equipment, design and building materials, and fluid systems, air and water quality;
- Improving cleaning and disinfection techniques, such as physical technologies (lasers, ultrasounds, ultraviolet light, chemical and biological methods and antibiofilm materials;
- Controlling microbial ecosystems, products of bioadhesion, biofilms, microbial stress, antibiotic resistance, mutagenesis, barrier effects, positive biofilms and controlled microbial ecology;
- Measuring and controlling microbial flora, information management, including online sensors, sampling methods and biological analysis (for example: traditional, innovative, rapid), and information management and traceability.Or further information, please visit:
