International Institute for Refrigeration Technology: conference and seminar

The International Institute for Refrigeration Technology will hold a conference entitled "CFCs, The Day After" at Padua University, Italy, on September 21-23 1994.

The world-wide need to phase out all CFCs means an urgent need for increased effort by universities, industry and other research organizations to evaluate the most energy-efficient, cost-effective and safe substitutes for CFCs. This conference will provide an opportunity for the expert exchange of information on recent developments in this area. Papers have been selected for presentation on the following topics:
- Thermodynamics and transport properties of new refrigerants;
- Refrigerating machinery;
- Heat transfer with new refrigerants;
- New trends in expanded thermal insulating materials.

A seminar entitled "New technology in refrigeration: progress in the application of new refrigerants" will precede the conference and will take place on 20 September 1994.
