The European challenge for a global information society

A conference entitled "The European challenge for a global information society" will take place in Brussels at the Palais des Congres on 26-27 September 1994.
The event is being supported by DG III and DG XIII of the European Commission and will include a number of Commission speakers who will outline the Commission initiatives and plans for a European information infrastructure. The speakers include:
- Mr. Michel Carpentier, Director-General, DG XIII;
- Mr. John Mogg, Director-General, DG XV.
The conference will look at the conclusions of the Bangemann report which was published earlier this year on the global information society. The report produced a number of recommendations which cover the regulatory and legal aspects of Europe's communications facilities and the establishment of trans-European networks, services and applications.
