Information Technologies programme: Long-term research, networks of excellence, and best practice in the field of software

Sources d'Europe, the Euro-Info Centre in Paris, is organizing a conference on "Information technologies: Long-term research and networks of excellence, and best practice in the field of software". It will take place in Paris on 8 December 1994.

The conference will discuss the Information Technologies specific programme under the Fourth Framework Programme (1994-1998), with particular reference to its following areas of activity:

- The objectives, work programme and methodology of implementing long-term research activities;
- Thematic networks of excellence for technological innovation, including a presentation on networks of excellence in industry;
- The European Systems and Software Initiative (ESSI) and the diffusion of best practice in the field of software in the European Union.
