In the framework of the THERMIE programme, the European Commission, DG XVII, will hold a workshop on "Innovative financing schemes for energy and environmental technologies and services". It is organized by the OPET Network, in collaboration with the Commission, and will take place in Luxembourg on 11 April 1995.
One of the major barriers to the uptake of efficient energy technologies is the raising of finances to support the investments. The Commission has developed different funding methods that can help to overcome all the barriers operating in the framework of market forces. The aims of the workshop are therefore to:
- Disseminate the know-how on the innovative schemes that are designed for financing energy technologies;
- Make financing institutions aware of the scale of opportunities for financing in this field.
