The Petroleum Science and Technology Institute (PSTI) is organizing an International Petroleum Research and Technology Forum to be held in Edinburgh, Scotland, on 14-15 November 1995. The PSTI is an organization for the promotion of energy technology (OPET) for the European Commission (DG XVII). The aim of the conference will be to highlight the institutes's strategic role in shaping the market place for the development and acquisition of new knowledge and technology in the upstream oil and gas sectors. The Forum will focus on three main issues:
- Future technical challenges facing the industry;
- Improving company access to and interaction with research bodies and innovative technology delivery companies;
- Dissemination of international information on science and technology policy, requirements and activity.

A number of recent trends in private and public sector strategies which have implications for RTD and innovation in the upstream sector will also be addressed. The Forum will be of interest to:
- Those in industry responsible for investigating and purchasing new technology and for setting strategic RTD goals;
- Those in government responsible for research programme planning;
- Researchers and technology delivery companies involved in identifying industry needs and accessing funds to help them achieve their aims.

An exhibition containing displays of current RTD technology and innovative products will acompany the Forum.For further information, please contact:
