TIDE MARTEL Forum - Technology for Older Citizens

A conference entitled "Technology for the Older Citizen" is being organized by the MARTEL (Market Awareness of Rehabilitation Technology for Elderly People) project of the Community's Technology Initiative for Disabled and Elderly People (TIDE) programme. The conference is to be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 7 November 1995.

The aim of the MARTEL project is to make suppliers of care services aware of the potential use of technology for the care of older people by building a forum for the bringing together of care provision organizations, care funding policy makers and technology suppliers.

The purpose of this forum is to:

- Clarify market needs and technology opportunities and promote awareness of technology for use in the care sector;
- Provide a forum where all parties involved may create and maintain a dialogue aimed at narrowing the gap between older people and technology.

The TIDE MARTEL Forum is open to care providers, care funders, older people's organizations, technology manufacturers, policy makers, researchers, disability organizations with a focus on older people, designers of products and service providers.
