Conference "Becquerel's legacy - a century of radioactivity"
The discovery of radioactivity by Henri Becquerel, in Paris, on 1 March 1896, has had a profound influence on science, medicine and industry. The purpose of this conference is to celebrate the centenary of the discovery, illustrate the pervasive nature and beneficial uses of radioactivity, and advocate a rational approach to the risks attendant on human exposure.
The conference is aimed at professionals in a range of disciplines, including: research and education, health care, industrial enterprise, occupational safety, environmental protection, public administration, legal practice and scientific journalism.
