Intellectual property management

A seminar and round table on "Intellectual property management" will be held in Catania, Italy, on 23-24 May 1996. The event is organized by MEDIA, the INNOVATION Relay Centre for Sicily, Sardinia and Calabria in Italy, in collaboration with Technology Innovation Information (TII).

The aim of the event is to disseminate intellectual property management know-how among the key professionals in European industry, research institutions and universities, in order to overcome existing barriers to efficient technology transfer.

The seminar, on 23 May, will cover intellectual property rights in industrial and research innovation, including protection at both Italian and European level. Other subjects will include intellectual property rights for universities and research centres, and the experiences of technology transfer institutions and industrial enterprises.

The round table, on 24 May, will deal with intellectual property management in general. Topics will include filing procedures for intellectual property rights at both national and international levels, and the rights of employees and employers in respect of inventions.
