Information Society as a challenge

As part of the European Information Society Awareness Week, the International Centre for Public Enterprises in Developing Countries (ICPE) in Slovenia is organizing a conference entitled "Information Society as a challenge - how business is preparing to respond" in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 17 September 1996.

The conference will include presentations from representatives of the European Commission responsible for Information Society activities, as well as from the Slovenian government. Participants will be given the opportunity to discuss issues related to the Information Society and view presentations of equipment and services. The needs and challenges of different user groups, such as business, public services and specialized services, will also be examined.

The European Information Society Awareness Week is an initiative of the European Commission's Information Society Project Office and DG XXIII. Its aim is to promote awareness among SMEs of new information and communications technologies.
