A conference on "The Membrane Process - Mastering the water cycle in industry" will be held in Villepinte, France, on 2 October 1997. The conference is being organized by the French National Council of Engineers and Researchers (CNISF), the "Club Français des Membranes" and the "Nancie", in collaboration with the European Union's BRITE/EURAM programme for RTD in the field of Industrial and Materials Technologies.
The conference aims to provide an overview of the current situation with regard to the water cycle in industry and to outline the possibilities offered by membrane techniques in this area. Presentations will focus on innovative processes and on sectors in which the economic or environmental requirements are favourable to the further extension of membrane processes.
A Round Table, bringing together membrane manufacturers, universities and research centres, will aim to examine the future role of membrane processes in resolving environmental problems in industry and to investigate the possibilities for technology transfer between industrial sectors.
The conference will take place within the framework of POLLUTEC'97, the thirteenth international exhibition for environmental equipment technology and services for industry and local authorities, which will be held in Villepinte, France, from 30 September to 3 October 1997.
