Multimedia access to Euro-Mediterranean cultural heritage - Workshop postponed

The workshop on "Multimedia access to Euro-Mediterranean cultural heritage", due to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from 17 to 19 February 1998 has been postponed. It will now take place from 27 to 29 April 1998, again in Cairo. The workshop is organized within the framework of the development of the Euro-Med Information Society, with support from the European Commission.

The objectives of the workshop are to help find partners and develop ideas for cooperative projects; to develop increased awareness of the technical alternatives and of best practices; and to help increase visibility of regional leaders in the development of information and communications technologies-based cultural products and services.

The deadline for submission of papers for presentation at the conference has also been extended. Abstracts of up to 250 words may now be submitted at any time until 16 Mach 1998.
