Challenging the Standard Model with the scrutiny of b to qll transitions

Periodic Reporting for period 2 - Chiaroscuro (Challenging the Standard Model with the scrutiny of b to qll transitions)

Okres sprawozdawczy: 2023-04-01 do 2024-09-30

The Chiaroscuro project is probing the potential existence of elementary particles beyond those currently known from the Standard Model of Particle Physics.
During its first 30 months, despite external challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the project progresses well using the data already recorded by the LHCb experiment at CERN. Indeed, due to the delay in the recording of physics quality data with the upgraded LHCb detector, the project extracts as much as possible the full information from the previously recorded data. In parallel, the understanding of the new data is on-going.
We have performed detailled studies on b→see transitions in particuler for the Bs -> Phi ee decay mode and the B0 -> K*0 ee decay mode
We have performed detailed studies on b→see transitions which are of great interest because their comparison may help to shade light on tensions seen in transitions b→s mu mu transitions which are already well studied, contrary to modes involving electrons.
One of the billions of events recorded by the LHCb experiment.
