General EC policy brief 2

"This second EC policy brief is aimed at discussing the policy implications arising from the research output of WP3-WP6. These WPs are devoted to the analysis of the recent and emerging impact of GVCs, and of the socioeconomic impact of GVCs in alternative ""new normal"" scenarios. These scenarios are defined based on the recent trends and drivers of global value chains. Among them, also the evolution of the geopolitical context is considered. For instance, ""new normal"" scenarios may involve a situation where Europe aims at increasing self-reliance from specific countries and global actors. The implications discussed in this EC Policy brief are expected to be particularly relevant for the policy areas of trade & international agreements, economic, social & territorial cohesion, employment & social affairs, and environment."

"This first EC policy brief is aimed at discussing the policy implications arising from the research output of WP1 and WP2. These WPs concern the recent trends and drivers of global value chains. Among these trends, it is included the current geopolitical situation. This analysis represents the ground on which ""new normal"" scenarios will be defined. In such scenarios, for instance, Europe may aim for supply chain autonomy from specific countries and global actors. The policy implications discussed in this EC policy brief are expected to be particularly relevant for the policy areas of trade and international agreements and economic, social and territorial cohesion."
