Transitioning of construction industry toward sustainable bulding management requires significant changes. Products and materials should either remain in use or be recycled effectively. The building industry must adopt a new model for designing, renovating, and dismantling buildings to minimize waste. The INBUILT project proposes ten innovative products with low carbon footprints. It's (BIM) digital platform is recognized as a key driver for improving transparency, reducing costs, and promoting the efficient reuse of resources. The purpose will be to calculate the current and future environmental, economic & social impacts of a construction project thanks to the development of a digital tool to enable the calculation of the building`s, components and materials circularity performance and short-term environmental and economic impacts. All technologies and products focus on using and reusing local resources and waste to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of buildings. INBUILT emphasizes locally sourced bio/and geo-based materials, as well as recycled products, suitable for both new constructions and the renovation of existing buildings. INBUILT aims to revitalize the building and construction sector through:
-decarbonization and a sustainability transition across all stakeholders in the value chain
-demonstrating the profitability and job creation potential of sustainable and circular business models
-showcasing industrialization potential, economies of scale, and applicability to a significant portion of the EU building stock and infrastructure, as well as new construction methods
-developing strategies and tools to adapt skills, culture, and ways of working to the demands of sustainability
The model presented in INBUILT fully integrates circular economy principles, keeping products in use and safeguarding the climate.
