Periodic Reporting for period 1 - ODEON (federated data and intelligence Orchestration & sharing for the Digital Energy transitiON)

ODEON creates an inclusive ecosystem of stakeholders characterized by the integration of a mesh of Data, Intelligence, Service and Market flows in the energy system. ODEON enables the resilient operation of the energy system considering the increased RES integration, and the effective orchestration of the flexibility from assets residing at the edges of the system offered by the wealth if distributed energy, building and mobility flexible assets residing at the edges of the system, across prosumers’ premises and LEC boundaries.
Following this approach, ODEON objectives are:
• Deliver a transparent, accessible and reliable highly distributed open technological framework for orchestrating federated data management, sharing and intelligence extraction to support the delivery of innovative energy services for distribution grid resilience and decentralized flexibility triggering under high-RES penetration.
• Create an open, accessible, and reliable technological framework that supports the delivery of innovative energy services, enhancing distribution grid resilience and flexibility in the face of high-RES penetration.
• Encourage seamless data exchanges and full integration of the energy ecosystem by fostering technical and semantic interoperability across the entire energy value chain and related sectors.
• Promote the integration of the energy sector value chain and related sectors to establish a decentralized environment and service ecosystem for resilient grid management and flexibility-based operations.
• Provide a range of intelligence-enabled energy solutions and services driven by data to actively support the achievement of energy transition goals, including system decarbonization and consumer empowerment.
• Prepare the grounds for the successful replication and market uptake of the ODEON solutions.
• Promote ODEON as a reference Cloud-Edge Data and Intelligence enabler for the Green and Digital Transition through intense dissemination and knowledge transfer of the project’s outcomes.
The ODEON project showcases its innovation through five large-scale demonstrators in Greece, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, and France. The demonstrators involve a diverse range of energy sources, networks, IoT infrastructure, systems, and assets which are implemented across heterogeneous, climatic, geographic, and socio-economic conditions and sizes.
Following this approach, ODEON objectives are:

ODEON Cloud-Edge Data and Intelligence Service Platform: To enable a reference Federated Energy Data Spaces implementation that will facilitate the integration of the value chain around energy (and other sectors) data.
ODEON Catalogue of AI Artefacts: To provide a series of Machine-Learning mechanisms for orchestrating the training, testing, and execution towards the orchestration of constrained devices, energy efficiency, latency, and AI accuracy/performance
ODEON Energy Services for DSOs: To enhance network resilience through Flexibility-based Network Management, swiftly address congestion and voltage events with edge-enabled optimization services, enable evidence-based Network Planning and Reinforcement Assessment, and optimize Asset Management and Predictive Maintenance.
ODEON Energy Services for LECs/Aggregators: To allow the reduction of energy costs and increase their autonomy from the overlay grid, while allowing them to further enhance their role in the energy transition by supporting informed decision-making for additional investments in RES and flexible Assets (storage, EVs, heat pumps).
ODEON Energy Services for Prosumers: To promote informed and transparent participation in flexibility and energy transactions through optimally designed Local Flexibility and P2P Energy Trading Marketplaces.
