Structural Uncertainty-oriented REgularization Framework (SURE) for Inverse Design of Engineering Applications (IDEAs)

Opis projektu

Nowe metody regularyzacji konstrukcji lotniczych

W ramach projektu powstanie nowatorska koncepcja odwrotnej, nieprobabilistycznej struktury matematycznej i obliczeniowej opartej na regularyzacji, do wykorzystania w zintegrowanym projektowaniu konstrukcji nośnych.

Cel

This project will develop novel uncertainty-oriented regularization methods for inverse multi-task envelope designs of aerospace structures in the presence of uncertainty and subjected to multi-type loadings to meet strict space environment. An intelligent inverse design concept of a non-probabilistic regularization-based mathematical and computational (RBMC) framework will be proposed and developed for integrated load-structure design (ILSD). This framework can be defined as: Structural Uncertainty-oriented REgularization Framework (SURE) for Inverse Design of Engineering Applications (IDEAs). The applicant will create new knowledge and develop internationally recognized technology in cooperation with the team at the University of Southampton (UoS), UK.
The main original contributions of this project are: (a) An adaptive uncertainty-based condensation model will be established for accurately capturing the dynamic performances of the complete nominal structure while fully retaining the information of uncertainty of the original structure. (b) A systematic methodology of non-probabilistic regularization framework will be established for robust regularization parameter selection to tackle ill-posedness. (c) An efficient reliability-oriented force control and safety-oriented maintenance framework for ILSD will be established.
Dr. Yang has a strong record of high-quality publications in leading journals. He will be supervised by Prof. Daniil Yurchenko. Dr. Yang will have access to abundant computing and experimental facilities provided by UoS. His professional development will be underpinned by targeted training activities. The exploitation and dissemination will be planned and main contributions lie in the innovative technological development and breakthrough in ILSD. The tasks of this project are set up based on available resources to deliver the defined WPs.
