Final Report Summary - QUPOL (Quantum gases of ultracold polar molecules)
QUPOL has explored unconventional quantum phases of matter. There are subtle quantum effects in the interaction between neutral particles that strongly affect the properties of matter close to the absolute zero of temperature, such as three-body, strong and long-range interactions. We have investigated in experiments with ultracold atoms and molecules how such effects contribute of transforming an ideal system, a superfluid, into systems with new, unexpected properties.
