Final Report Summary - SIGMA-VISION (Sparsity, Image and Geometry to Model Adaptively Visual Processings)
SIGMA-Vision (Sparsity, Image and Geometry to Model Adaptively Visual Processings) developed the next generation algorithms and methodologies for image processing. These algorithms rely on several mathematical breakthroughs in image modeling using optimal transport, non-smooth optimization and stochastic PDEs. These methods are implemented as open source software using fast algorithms that can handle massive datasets with gigapixels images and videos. These computational tools have been applied to imaging sciences (super-resolution) computer graphics (color processing, shape deformation) and neuroscience (understanding of the visual brain using electrophysiology).
