Periodic Reporting for period 1 - MultiRev (Multi-revolution non-volatile magnetic sensors)

In this project the proof-of-concept for a novel multi-revolution sensor was demonstrated. Sensing more than 360° is of increasing importance for many applications in automotive and automation industries. To achieve low power operation, non-volatile magnetic systems have been developed that allow for reliable sensing of many rotations, which in combination with high resolution angle sensors allows for complete characterization of rotations. Having developed the operation concept and validated it by numerical simulations, sensing devices were then built, characterized and optimized to maximize their possible applications. Intellectual property was secured and in conjunction with industrial partners possible routes for further development towards a product as well as the market were analyzed.
