Specification of the use cases to be completed within TSOs’ environments used for pilot tests

Specification and implementation of the use cases to be completed within TSOs’ environments used for pilot tests. There should be a total of 4 use cases of increasing complexity.

Recommendations for a deployment roadmap of the most promising use cases studied in the pilot tests

Recommendations for a deployment roadmap of the most promising use cases studied in the pilot tests shall be elaborated based on gained experiences, taking into account the feedback from involved stakeholders in the dissemination activities.

Analysis of results from dissemination activities during the first three years

The comments and recommendations expressed by TSOs, regulators and other workshop participants in the first three years have to be sumarized and a perspective of deployment has to be given.

Validation report of prototyped aFRR software suite

Based on output from Task 2.2, set of use cases will be validated through a computer simulation using real historical data provided by TSOs and distributed resources.

Actions initiated with standardization organizations

It target the project's participation in related EC and international standardization activities.

Report on Prototype Regional Balancing and Redispatching Platform

Based on specification from D3.1, the prototype will be developed.

Report on the cross-border pilot tests

Report on the cross-border pilot tests (M39) performed based on the use cases 3 and 4 defined in WP4, involving the C&I consumers and distributed generators recruited within task 5.1.

Assessment of pilot tests

Assessment of pilot tests using the KPI indicators that were developed in D42 Assessment and a thorough multicriterion analysis is to be performed progressively

Barriers to scaling up and replication of the most promising field tests results

In particular, technology, economy and regulatory bariers must be scrutinised as well as the problem arising from scaling the results.

Impact analysis of the performed pilot tests

A thorough assessment of pilot tests performed in WP4 allowing the extrapolation of results of technology and economic pilot tests.

Key performance indicators for the assessment of pilot tests

This deliverable will list the KPIs proven to efficiently illustrate the key results of pilot tests, such as costs, quality of regulation, level of cross-border exchanges, and any other appeared as important during the assessments within WP1.

Report on the pilot tests carried out within each participating control zone

Report on the pilot tests carried out within each participating control zone (M39) reports on tests performed based on the use cases 1 and 2 defined in WP4 and involving the C&I consumers and distributed generators recruited within task 5.1.

Data needed to implement the common activation function

Data needed to implement the common activation function (M12), the specification of various communication protocols to be used for the real-time exchange, B2B data exchange specifications and Structural data exchange specifications.

Requirements for DR & DG participation in aFRR Markets

Research between TSOs about requirements for provisioning DR & DG in FRR markets and survey of such potential DR & DG.

Cross-border balancingand redispatching mechanisms tailored to congested borders situation and design of a Common Activation Function

This deliverable will provide the functional description of the cross-border balancing and redispaching mechanism which takes into account the congestions among the concerned bidding zones, as well as the algorithm of an aFRR Common Activation Function, and the principles of redispatching function.

Report on offline testing of the Regional Balancing and Redispatching Platform, including the common real-time processing function

Report on offline testing of the Regional Balancing and Redispatching Platform, including the common real-time processing function.

Specifications of the common real-time processing function

The software specifications of the common real-time processing function shall be defined based on the concept of this real-time function developed within WP1.

Results from simulations of cross-border balancing and redispatching mechanisms with Common Activation Function

This deliverable will provide the proof of concept of the investigated CB mechanisms through studies and exemplary simulations, as an initial input to the pilot tests.
