Making Complex Gas Analytics Friendly and Available ASAP

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - GasApp (Making Complex Gas Analytics Friendly and Available ASAP)

Okres sprawozdawczy: 2017-01-01 do 2018-06-30

We have developed a new product for ultralow cost detection of gases. On the one hand, it is based on active inks that changes their color in the presence of gases and that can be printed on top of plastic o paper surfaces. On the other hand, we have developed a patented software that can read these color changes with the images taken with a conventional smartphone camera in a fully reliable manner. The combination of these two elements is now being applied to monitor the gases present in packaged food, which relate to the quality of the food, its freshness and spoilage. With this new product, accurate information about the quality of every single food package can be gathered and used to optimize processes in food manufacturing and distribution, increase the profits, reduce waste, and improve the user experience. We have just launched a start-up, ColorSensing (www.color-sensing.com) whose mission is commercializing the GasApp technology, first in the smart packaging market (which is huge) and later in further applications where our color measurement software can be applied to (e.g. water quality control, environmental monitoring, telemedicine, etc.).
In summaty, we have managed to come not only to a proof-of-concept prototype of the new technology developed in the ERC projects, but we have also drafted and implemented a clear path to market that is currently being deployed.
