During the activities of the project, a major effort has been devoted to the implementation of the prototype: Task 1, “ROMA Implementation” has been carried out continuously during the execution of the ROMA project. Within this task, we have executed the implementation of the ROMA components for the FogAtlas platform, which represent the asset produced in ROMA. The implementation is suitable for a general distributed fog infrastructure, towards the support of a true Fog scheduling and pricing platform with 0-touch characteristics. At the beginning of the ROMA project we have explored the whole technological context and the relevant implementation work to be pursued first. We hence ruled out some of the scenarios initially proposed and re-focused on the actual Fog computing scenario. MEC type of applications can still be supported but they are left as possible extension of the platform for future developments. We hence have been providing the design of a reference architecture. During the whole development phase, which has been finalized in two steps, namely M9 and M18, we have applied an agile development technique to improve the pricing and the scheduling functionalities. All the relevant features of the ROMA prototype have been delivered at the end of the project activities by integrating them inside the FogAtlas platform. The platform is currently an asset for innovation and technology transfer available at FBK. We have been providing a thorough description with the fog prototype at large in the deliverable released at M9, “Pricing and billing pilot setup: intermediate” and in the final version of the deliverable released at M18, “Pricing and billing pilot setup: final”. Between the two releases, new solutions have been released both in terms of implementation technology adopted and in pricing and scheduling logic. During the activities of Task 2, Market Positioning, IPRs and Business Scouting of the ROMA project, we have highlighted the outcomes towards exploitation and dissemination of the results of the platform assets which have been presented in deliverable D1. We have analysed the market positioning which has driven the development activities, with several showcasing events of the platform with stakeholders, We have also undertaken several follow-up activities at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) in order to exploit the platform on the market.
