Visitor is a high level PhD training proposal that aims at solving current research problems in Interaction, learning and Autonomous Systems. Visitor is presented by the Gravir laboratory which is located in Grenoble, France. Gravir benefits from 4 associated institutions: 2 university related institutions and 2 national research institutes. These institutions contribute on different aspects, from academic to industrial aspects, and ensure synergies at all levels. Within this Marie-Curie host program, research will be conducted on subjects which are in the FP6 Knowledge and interface technologies priority and which include: 3D perception, machine learning, autonomous vehicles, mixed reality, rendering, animation and intelligent interfaces among others. Due to rapid changes in computer architectures, and to new algorithms that have been developed, major advances in computer graphics, computer vision and learning will be made in the next decade. Gravir has the human and material potential to conduct and super vise new research in these fields, as well as to be a leader in these advances. The Marie-Curie host program can help Gravir to reach this objective since the laboratory is successful in attracting excellent young scientists but lacks PhD grants to finance them.
