Design and engineering of efficient filters

Quantification of the coupling between pore-scale flow heterogeneity and particles-medium interaction on colloid filtration reporting: i) the overall filtration efficiency (retained to injected particles ratio), ii) the particles deposition profile, and iii) the consequent impact on the filter hydraulic properties (flow to pressure relationship) addressing how the complexity of flow paths and their statistical properties affect filtration. A reference filter, with attractive particles-walls chemical potential, homogeneous size distribution and spatial organization of the solid structure, will be characterized and used as a benchmark test.

Public workshop

A one/two days workshop on the topics and results of the NARCISO project will be organized. Interested and qualified colleagues will also be invited to give lectures during the workshop, that will be organized as a satellite event to the consortium meetings. The workshop will be advertised starting from M14. In order to extend the audience, one adjunct program chair will be invited and a keynote speaker external to the project will be invited as well.

First version of the website

The website and the project logo are arranged so to ensure visibility of the public activity of the project and to provide a hub for exchange between partners. It will contain information related to dissemination and communication. Exploitation activities will be published only after IPP is secured. Internal activity of the project will be managed thanks to restricted access pages so to share data, drafts, reporting activity. The web site, scheduled in month 2(M2) will be continuously updated thereafter.
