O&M tools integrating accurate structural health in offshore energy

Rezultaty

Specifications for the data, models, diagnosis, prognosis, decision support and fault tolerant control

Specifications for the datasets, corrosion models, weather condition models, diagnosis, prognosis, decision support and fault tolerant control that are employed and/or developed in WP3 and WP4 will be defined. Six groups of specifications are considered: Features to be measured; Influent collateral inputs; Application related specifications; Integration/Deployment of algorithms; Fault tolerant control; Data management.

Corrosion models definition and validation

D31 will report a public PU versin of the definition of corrosion and coating degradation models relevant for the environmental conditions and material under study Coating degradation and corrosion will be described as a function of time

Decision Support System as CBM tool for WT structures

D34 will report the main features and characteristics of the Decision Support System DSS Software as ConditionBased monitoring tool for WT structures and will also report the validation of this new DSS at simulation level

Corrosion testing in field

Samples of structural steel with and without protective coating systems will be prepared and exposed at real environmental conditions producing corrosion that will be measured to specify corrosion phenomena. It will be the result of subtask 1.3.2.

Integration and test of the monitoring design, communications and mobile platform

D25 will report the results of the integration of the components developed in tasks T21 T22 and T23 It will include The integration and test of the dronebased platform blocks the integration and test of the second solution of the monitoring system with the communications module the integration and test of the first solution of the monitoring system with the communications module the integration of the monitoring system including communications with the dronebased mobile platformThe frequency bandwidth of the ultrasound smart sensor will be in the range of 100 200 kHz and the sensor will have a frequency in the range of 5 10 MHzThe monitoring platform is expected to have a weight of maximum 500 gramsThe communication platform will achieve an effective range of around 80 meters and support a maximum data rate of 250 kbps

Fault Tolerant Wind Turbine Control

D35 will report a review on the developed algorithms and software components whose goal is to control individual wind turbines in a fault tolerant way In particular both faults at individual wind turbine components levels and the turbine structural health status based on corrosion measurements and predictions will be considered

Design specifications for stochastic WF control including optimal O&M

The output will be a set of design specifications for the WF controller, including: Definition of the baseline control and O&M architectures; Effectiveness of the controller in use cases and scenarios; Concept study of mitigating control strategies.

Results of the replicability and transferability analysis in the ocean sector

D56 will report the analysis of the replicability and transferability of WATEREYE knowledge technologies and results studying their appliance in several of the other sectors of offshore energy such as wave energy tidal energy ocean thermal energy and other potential ocean applications

Services for data acquisition, storage and access

D3.3 will report the definition of the infrastructure to store the data required by downstream application: wall thickness, historical data from other wind turbines, environmental conditions, wind turbine operation conditions. SWC will also develop and deploy a semantic layer on top of the database to facilitate access to data by prognosis and diagnosis tools and decision support system.

EEAB establishment, members, roles and planning

Report showing final composition of EEAB members, roles and planning with meetings schedule and templates/lists for useful information exchange for the project.

Optimal WF control algorithms based on state of corrosion and maintenance constraints

D43 will report a review on optimal wind farm controlalgorithms based on state of corrosion and on maintenance constraints including WF modelling and simulation Optimal WF control including maintenance and load constraints and also including the results of a testcase simulation analysis

Smart corrosion sensors &communications specifications

Detailed specification of the smart corrosion sensors and communications platform. It will be the result of subtask 1.3.1.

Weather and Operation Forecast tool

D3.6 will report a public (PU) versión of the main characteristics of the weather and operation forecast tool developed from the Weather Research and Forecast model coupled with the WT simulation package FAST to generate forecast data both starting from actual conditions, and also from relevant extreme conditions in order to analyse different what-if scenarios.

WATEREYE Monitoring validation in relevant environment

D54 will show at report and demonstration level how the prototype of monitoring solution is installed and proved in relevant environment in the PLOCAN facilities It will include the implementation of a prototype including a matrix of fixed sensors and 1 mobile smart sensor as well as the prototype of the mobile platform and docking station D54 will show the physical prototypes and the report of the analysis of the monitoring of corrosion phenomenaA wall thickness degradation rate detection of as low 114 228 nmh is expected

WATEREYE Monitoring HW (WP2) & SW (WP3) integration & validation at lab scale

D52 will report the integration validation at lab scale of the monitoring HW and SW The report will include proves and analysis of interface between the integrated monitoring platform communications and mobile platform developed in T25 with the data management tool CEIT DD SWC study the effect of micromotion of the mobile platform on the measured wall thicknessdamage features FMAKE CEIT DD interface between the data management tool and the OM software tools developed in WP3 and to integrate them into a main server FMAKE SWC validation the proofofconcept of the monitoring systemA wall thickness degradation rate detection of as low 114 228 nmh is expected

Mobile platform SWAP, IPS, Preliminary design and ICD

Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) budget and distribution will be defined for the whole mobile platform systems (Mobile platform; Power; Navigation sensors; Corrosion sensors and communication module; Corrosion sensor placement system; Mounting)

WF controller including maintenance scheduling based on corrosion predictions

D44 will report the result of the final Wind Farm controller solution including the definition of feasible operation and maintenance options and estimation of costs for maintenance activities and also including a model for Cooptimization of control and maintenance strategy

Real-time probabilistic analysis of WFs

This deliverable will show adhoc developed methods for realtime probabilistic analysis of wind power plant operation integrating structural health diagnosis and prognosis ie the state of corrosion

Use cases and scenarios definition

This deliverable will describe the checklist for conditions affecting corrosion in real environment and will define main general (non-detailed) specifications of: smart sensors; communications; mobile-platform operating conditions; diagnostics and visualization tools; functionalities of the diagnostic, prognostics and decision support tools; WT and WF control algorithms main outputs and use cases for the WF controller.

WATEREYE WF control tools integration

D5.3 will include SW solution of the Wind Farm control tools integration. It includes: Set-up of wind farm simulator and Integration/transferability analysis of WATEREYE WF management tools (The analysis will emphasize the retrofitting of existing wind turbines and wind farm management systems but also cover novel system developments).
