Tackling Idleness and Under-utilization of Heavy-Machinery with a new fully Automated and Versatile Docking System

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - DOCKNROLL (Tackling Idleness and Under-utilization of Heavy-Machinery with a new fully Automated and Versatile Docking System)

Okres sprawozdawczy: 2019-03-01 do 2019-06-30

We assessed the technical, financial and commercial feasibility of our business innovation project. We established the technical roadmap to launch DOCK’N’ROLL in the market and analysed the Agricultural and Construction equipment markets. Based on our market analysis, we fine-tuned our commercialisation plan for fast market introduction and wide market adoption. From the financial side, we calculated the necessary investment to advance DOCK’N’ROLL to TRL9 and forecasted our growth during the commercialisation period.
In the technical part, we established the roadmap to advance DOCK’N’ROLL to TRL-9, we analysed the technical risks and established their mitigation actions and reported on our scale-up plan to meet market demand. In the commercial part, we analyzed the market and the drivers that will fuel DOCK’N’ROLL market adoption. We tuned our commercialization plan for fast market entry and optimized our dissemination plan to maximize awareness. To this end, we presented DOCK’N’ROLL at a key trade fair, establishing important business leads with potential customers. Our Freedom to Operate analysis evidenced that our technology does not infringe the IPRs of others, and our competition analysis confirmed our lead over existing systems. We calculated the investment needed for our project, we validated its’ financial viability and we projected our revenues for the commercialization period.
DOCK’N’ROLL’s carefully designed cabin and breakthrough docking system, enable the fully automated docking of attachments in a completely safe way. This will drastically reduce accidents in the farms; a pressing problem for the European agricultural industry, which currently accounts for 13% of all fatal accidents for all NACE sectors. Also, around the world the average age of farmers working in the fields keeps increasing. Hence, the automated way of connecting attachments, will fuel DOCK’N’ROLL adoption by older farmers and open the farming profession to people with disabilities.
