To achieve this objective ESR will apply high mass/spatial resolution mass spectrometry for the characterisation of surface properties, interaction with food components and determination of microplastic polymer contamination of seafood and different aquatic species.
Integrated consumer assurance protocol framework and toolkit for trust, to assure food quality and traceability throughout the supply chain (si apre in una nuova finestra)ESR6 at JSI will develop novel strategies for verifying food authenticity and build consumer trust. A common strategic platform of confidence and protection based on new and emerging food authenticity screening tools will be developed to assure food legitimacy, quality and traceability. This approach will be validated on target tests such as rice, oil, wine, meat and fish products; optimizing sampling strategies and protocols based on the commercial logistics throughout the food supply chain; from producer to manufacturer to supplier to consumer.
