CONVAIR establishes common strategic views on advanced communications and identifies issues that are critical in the development of communications and in the realisation of the emerging Communication and Information Society. The value of this activity for the European Union is that the sector's players (including users' organisations) are made aware of the strategic aspects of the developments and that from a clearer understanding, their efforts can be better directed at common agreed objectives. Relevant results are disseminated within ACTS to facilitate the focusing of the concertation process and the full exploitation of the ACTS Programme. Comments, inputs and alternative views are collected from within and outside the ACTS community and are then discussed within the Project. Relevant conclusions and considerations are reflected in the Deliverables. This activity is completed by a technology watch activity.
