Wyniki nadające się do wykorzystania
The objective of the TRAFFIC project was to produce and validate a method dealing with the traceability of the requirements of CNS subsystems, based on ATM concept definition and consolidation activities. This objective was reached through the following three Steps:
- definition of the scope of the operational concepts, contexts and requirements to consider, including the geographic area and time frame
- establishment of a method for determining and tracing the evolution of CNS requirements versus the operational concept and context
- using this method defined in WP2, tracing of the evolution of CNS requirements for three study cases corresponding to a modification of the operational concept in time, to traffic growth, and to the geographic evolution of the operational concept.
The main conclusions of the project are as follows:
- TRAFFIC is an engineering approach, structured to an objective (not an artistic approach);
- The use of the proposed approach (the method) by three groups of different companies (six different companies with different culture and different needs) for three different technical evaluations showed that the method:
- could be used by different users,
- has a large possible scope of use, potentially larger than the three study cases performed;
- TRAFFIC provides the capability to trace CNS requirements (what we have, will have or may have) from High-level Needs (what we need or want) (see ATM2000+ Strategy and EATMS Operation Concept Document);
- TRAFFIC supports the first Steps towards the definition of specific ATM systems in operational environments that are known to be still incomplete (e.g., introduction of new concepts in an existing environment) by identifying the shortcomings and inconsistencies within CNS requirements.
