Development of a mineral bone substitute injectable by percutaneous approach and the minimally invasive catheterism technique

Cel

Today, the filling of tumoral hollows and fractural lesions with bone substitutes into the femurs, ibias and humeruses metaphysis and epiphysis is performed with traditional surgical methods which present high risks for the patients and generate high costs for the community. The development of a mineral bone substitute injectable by percutaneous approach and the minimally invasive catheterism technique will be a solution to these problems. Research is necessary to develop a new bone substitute which fluidness to allow the injection will not alter its biocompatible, bioresorbable and mechanical strength properties after setting a ardening. Research is also required to develop miniature drilling bit, tools and guides to optimize the catt rajectory and provide the best minimally invasive therapy.
