ECOSIM aims create tools to predict poor local air quality in real time and then initiate effective traffic demand management measures to reduce pollution levels in urban areas.
Integrated software tools to forecast the quality of air in urban areas for operational and strategic planning will be made commercially available These are: REGOZON (multi-layer dynamic photochemical), DYMOS (3D dynamic photochemical), MEMO (meteorological forecasting), MUSE (multi-layer dynamic photochemical), POM (3D coastal flow and water quality), MODFLOW (3D groundwater flow) and MTD-3 (groundwater quality). All the larger cities in Europe (more than 250,000 inhabitants - Air Quality Frame Directive 96/62) are targeted.
