Cel
The 1 MW plant in Toledo is a project resulting from the participation of new EUROPEAN COMMUNITY Directorates (DG XII and DG XVII) and the cooperation of two large electrical companies, the Spanish UEF and the German RWE.
The project grew out of the study of a combined operation of a small hydroelectric power and a PV power plant for a region with a surplus water supply in the winter months and a scarcity of water and high solar energy during the summer months.
The main objective of the plant is to minimize the cost of energy produced (ECU/Kwh).
The plant will consist of a 1 MW PV generator directly coupled to one (or several) DC/AC inverters and connected to a 15 KV. electrical grid via a transformer.
The main criteria used in this project is to improve the significant European know-how in the field of photovoltaic energy: develop large modules, technical and cost data for inverters and their control scheme, photovoltaic arrays structure and several power segment and System Engineering Studies.
