Cel Research objectives and content The use of mineralogical techniques combined with chemical modelling to asses impacts of potentially toxic elements in soils. Identification of primary and secondary mineral phases and reactions in progress to study the reactivity of mineral species, main contaminants in the site. Chemical modelling will be used to predict reaction sequences and experimental observations used to verify the hypothesised processes. Training content (objective, benefit and expected impact) To acquire a deeper understanding on the behaviour of anthropogenic heavy metals in soils and higher level of skill in tools of investigation.
