Control of cbp functions by calcium signalling pathways in neurons.

Cel

The research project proposed here, aimed at determining how CIA+ signalling control CBP activity, should provide new fundamental insights in understanding CIA+ -mediated gene regulation in neurons To conduct this project, I will use standard techniques of molecular biology for witch I already have experience such as: cloning, sequencing DNA transfixion. Furthermore, I will learn culture and transfixion of primary neurons and will have the opportunity to learn up-to-date procedures that are already set up in the laboratory, such as DNA microinjection and Raze protection assays, which are powerful tools for the analysis of transient regulation of transcriptional responses. In addition, the methods involved in the analysis of CBP phosphorylation will greatly improve my expertise in the regulation of protein activity by phosphorylation. Furthermore, I will greatly benefit from the qualification of Dr Banding’s group in the field of CIA+ signalling and regulation of transcription. This will, in the future, allow me to carry out independent research in molecular science.
