ADVANCED TRANSEUROPEAN TELEMATICS APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY HELP

This cooperation project mobilises local authorities and other partners to develop and demonstrate interactive self-service multimedia kiosks for citizens in need of contact, information, support or registration of complaints involving local government, the police or other agencies, including local emergency and video services. Special applications are envisaged for ethnic minorities and the deaf. ATTACH will exchange information with the authority concerned and provide a guide to implementation of self-service multimedia applications.

ATTACH - Advanced TransEuropean Telematics Applications for Community Help. Local administrations from London (Newham Borough and Metropolitan Police), Central Scotland (GB), Roosendaal (NL), Ronneby (SE), Thessaloniki (GR) and Marseilles (FR) with the support of Olivetti (GB) and ergonomics experts (CCD, UK) will develop, implement and demonstrate interactive multi-media kiosks for self-service use of citizens providing information about and interaction with local administrations, police and other local organisations including emergency and video services.

Special applications are developed for ethnic minorities and deaf people. ATTACH will exchange information with other local authorities and provide a guide to implementing self-service multi-media applications. The project will be sponsored by technology and communication companies (AT&T, Bell Cable) and social organisations (Royal National Institute for the Deaf.
