The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission has published an invitation to tender to provide services to support and improve the management of their patent portfolio. The services to be provided are the following: - Design and implement an intellectual property management scheme, covering: . Decision-making procedures as to what to protect and when, and when to extend or terminate protection; . Organise training and awareness campaigns for JRC scientists; - Validate and improve the current patent portfolio and the relevant intellectual property: . Identify the valuable technology clusters in the patent portfolio; . Check if the intellectual property in these clusters is sufficiently protected and if not design an appropriate strategy to improve protection; . Assist JRC researchers in protecting valuable technologies, analyse the state-of-the-art of specific fields based on patent searches and other available data; . Write new patents with the help of the researchers in such a way that exploitation potential is increased; - Design and implement an active licensing strategy for the identified clusters: .
