Romania joins LIFE programme
Romania may participate in the EU programme "Quality of Life and Management of Living Resources" (LIFE), subject to the same conditions as other eligible institutions, organisations and individuals of the European Community. This follows a Decision the European Commission has published adopting the terms and conditions for Romania to participate as a financial instrument in the European Community in the field of environment (Decision 1/98: 1999/106/EC). To reflect the Community dimensions of LIFE, transnational projects and activities proposed by Romania are required, by the Decision, to include partners from Member States of the Community, whenever relevant. The financial contributions of Romania will cover subsidies and any supplementary administrative costs to the Commission that result from Romania's participation. This decision came into effect on 1 November 1998.
