Bulgaria's participation in the Communities social policy
The terms and conditions of the Republic of Bulgaria's participation in the Community programmes in the field of health and social policy, have been outlined in a Decision No 5/98 (1999/112/EC) of the Association Council, taken on 23 November 1998. The Decision states that Bulgaria shall participate in the European Community programmes combating cancer and prevention of AIDS and other communicable diseases. Additionally the Decision outlines the financial contribution of the Republic of Bulgaria, which covers: - Financial support from the programmes to Bulgarian participants; - Supplementary costs of an administrative nature related to the management of the programmes by the Commission stemming from Bulgaria's participation. The Decision shall apply until 31 December 1999 and entered into force on 1 December 1998.
