VEGETATION programme gives public access to products
The VEGETATION programme is offering preferential treatment to scientific public research projects carried out or sponsored through its partners. Preference will be given to projects carried out by research laboratories or institutions situated within the Member States or in third countries which are allowed to participate in the European Commission's Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration (RTD) from 1998 to 2002. The VEGETATION Programme has been operational since 1998, allowing daily monitoring of terrestrial vegetation cover through remote sensing (using instruments onboard the SPOT 4 and SPOT 5 satellites) at regional and global levels. Research proposals for the programme should aim to improve methodological approaches of remote sensing analysis (with direct relevance to the VEGETATION programme such as improvements to the system, products or services) or to investigate a thematic issue through intensive (but not exclusive) use of VEGETATION products. Research proposals should focus on specific objectives and give details of those objectives alongside information about the principle investigator, co-investigators, the workplan, schedule, expected results, VEGETATION products and other data requests.
