CONF service provides personalised conference information
Scientists from across Europe can now make use of the CONF service to find details of upcoming scientific meetings and conferences in a range of fields. The CONF database contains information on some 145,000 events worldwide past, current and future, searchable through subject classifications. Managed by the Fachinformationszentrum, Karlsruhe - an organisation specialised in providing information on science and technology - and the French Commissariat à l'énergie atomique, CONF is part of STN International - the Science and Technology Information Network. The entries for individual conferences include details of titles and topics, contacts for organisers, dates and locations. Event organisers may also submit their conference details on-line. The service covers events worldwide, and covers a range of scientific fields, including: energy, physics, mathematics, engineering, chemistry, space science, aeronautics and astronautics, astronomy and astrophysics, and computer science. With a new service developed by CONF, the Conference Information Service, companies and research organisations may subscribe to receive a regularly updated html file containing details of all upcoming conferences in their fields of interest. This file is designed to be placed on an organisation's intranet, and may also be delivered by e-mail.
