Study on estimated negative environmental effects of subsidies
The European Commission requires a study on the environmental effect of a certain number of non-environmental production subsidies (investment aid or operating aid), for which it has issued an invitation to tender. Aid such as nuclear liability insurance should also be included in the scope of the study, while the non-internalisation of external costs should be excluded. Another objective is to analyse the economic, social and environmental impact if those subsidies which are considered to have a negative environmental effect were to be abolished.
