The European Agency for Health and Safety at Work is making an open call for tender for a study on work accidents and employability. The aim of the study is to contribute to the knowledge base necessary for the preparation of the European Week 2001 about work-related accidents, by illustrating the link between accidents and employability. This will be achieved by collecting information on five to seven cases from at least three Member States on reintegration/rehabilitation of workers who suffered a work-related accident. Cases should include an objective description of the accidents, including the task carried out before/after the accident happened, the implemented reintegration/rehabilitation measures and related economic expenditures (e.g. costs of medical care, compensation for permanent disability, pension), and an 'impression' about the impact of the accident suffered on the worker's employability (e.g. days off work, invalidity grade, need for job shift) as well as relevant background information on the cases, e.g. overall view on the consequences of 'slips, trips and falls' accidents on national and/or European level. The collected information will be presented in a study report and the contractor will draft a fact sheet and an article for the European Agency Magazine.European Agency for Health and Safety at Work Gran Vía 33 E- 48009 Bilbao.
