Take action against pollution-related diseases
The European Commission is calling for proposals under its programme for action on pollution-related diseases in the context of the framework for action in the field of public health. The programme covers a period of three years with an annual budget of 1.3 million euro. The actions fall into the following categories: - Actions to improve information on pollution related diseases: aimed to contribute towards a better understanding of the role of pollutants in the causation and aggravation of diseases in the community. - Actions to improve knowledge and understanding of the assessment and management of pollution-related diseases: aimed to improve the level of knowledge and understanding of the assessment and management of pollution related health risks. The Commission's purpose in issuing this call for proposals is to attract proposals for projects from bodies active in the areas concerned. The reference basis for the selection of projects will be an annual work programme.
