Prior notification of various studies: Justice and Home Affairs
The European Commission's Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) DG has given prior notification of a call for tenders for studies within its remit. Areas covered will include: Freedom of movement for people and external borders: - 'a posteriori' assessment of projects in the DAPHNE Programme - procedures for becoming a member of the European Convention on Human Rights - procedures for integrating the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union into treaties. Immigration and asylum: - legal definition of persons from non-Community countries as refugees - ad-hoc analysis of Member States' legislation in the Justice and Home Affairs sphere - protection for victims of smugglers who are called on to give evidence. Judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters as well as in penal matters: - the ways in which property owned by spouses is affected by the dissolution of marriage in the Member States - competence, recognition of judgements and laws pertaining to inheritance in the Member States - practical problems relating to the lack of harmonisation in divorce disputes in the Member States - judicial procedures applicable to uncontested claims in the Member States - harmonisation of rules concerning civil proceedings (service and notification of legal documents) - alternative measures to imprisonment - approximation and mutual recognition of legal incapacity sanctions arising out of child labour - towards minimum standards for the assessment of standards in justice. Coordination on drugs: - study on the coordination of measures concerning drugs - establishment of joint action on synthetic drugs Police and customs cooperation - applicant countries' measures in the 'police' sector - requirements at police-customs cooperation level for the protection of future external borders Fight against organised crime: - trafficking in human organs External relations, enlargement The intended total procurement in each of the service categories is 2 million euro.
