Thematic call in the area of 'Food quality and safety'
The European Commission has published a call for proposals in the area of 'Food quality and safety' under the Sixth Framework Programme's 'Food quality and safety' thematic priority. This is one of the areas covered by the 'Integrating and strengthening the European research area' specific programme. The areas covered by this call are: - Total food chain (area 5.4.1 of the work programme), topics T1, T2, and T3; - Epidemiology of food-related diseases and allergies (area 5.4.2 of the work programme), topics T5 and T6; - Impact of food on health (area 5.4.3 of the work programme), topics T10, T11, T12, and T13; - Traceability processes along the production chain (area 5.4.4 of the work programme), topic T17; - Methods of analysis, detection and control (area 5.4.5 of the work programme), topics T18, T19, and T20; - Safer and environmentally friendly production methods and technologies and healthier foodstuffs (area 5.4.6 of the work programme), topics T24, T25, T26, T27, T28, T29 and T30; - Impact of animal feed on human health (area 5.4.7 of the work programme), topics T39 and T40; - Environmental health risks (area 5.4.8 of the work programme), topics T41, T42, T43, and T44; - Specific support activities (area 5.5 of the work programme). In specifying the instruments to be used in these areas, the call requests the use of integrated projects, networks of excellence, specific targeted research projects, coordinated actions, or specific support actions.
